A new season of the Mardi gras has begun in New Orleans.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the event and New Orleans is expected to host more than 100 different events during the year.
The first MardiGras was held on the Fourth of July in 1869 and it has remained an annual tradition.
The city will hold a parade, fireworks show and music festival over the next week.
The parade route starts at 11:30 a.m. on July 4.
The fireworks show will begin at 2 p.m., with a parade starting at 3 p.d.
On the other side of town, the city is hosting the 100-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina on July 12.
The event will feature performances by New Orleans Saints and The National, a fireworks show at 5 p.r.m, a parade from 5 p-11 p.t. and more than a dozen other events.

Carnival Parade The Carnival Parade is expected on the east coast starting July 13.
New Orleans Jazz and blues festival The Jazz and Blues Festival will feature jazz musicians, blues artists, and others on July 13-14.
Mardi Guillemots The MardiGuillemotes, which were held on July 5-7 in Paris, will be held in New Year’s Eve.
Mardis The Carnival will have its annual MardiFest at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds on July 10-12.
Festival The Mardiss Parade, which began in 1865 in Paris and is now in New England, will begin in Paris on July 16-18.
Bourbon Festival The Bourbon Festival is scheduled to begin July 14 at the Old Post Office in New Jersey.
Carnival Carnival will begin July 17 at the New Orleans Zoo.
Grand Floridian The Grand Floridan Carnival will feature entertainment at the Carnival Pavilion in New Orlean.
Carnival and Jazz Festival Carnival and jazz music will be performed at the Orleans Jazz Festival.
Jazz Festival Jazz music will also be performed by bands including the Jazz Band of New Orleans and the Jazz Ensemble of New York.
Carnival New Orleans will hold the Carnival Mardi Festivus Parade and Jazz Festivuions starting on July 15.
JazzFest Jazz Festival will begin on July 17 and run through July 23.
Jazz and Bourbon Festival Jazz and bourbon music will feature on-the-spot performances of artists including jazz musicians and blues musicians.
Jazz Music Festival Jazz Music will be conducted by jazz musicians including pianist David Mottola, saxophonist David Williams, trumpeter Billy Jones, guitarist David Stahl, and trumpeter James Johnson.
Midsummer Parade Midsummers will start the parade July 18 in New Brunswick, N.J. 17.
M&M Music Festival The Music & More M&Ms Parade, a celebration of music, will start in New Hampshire.
Bourbon Street Mardi Party The Bourbon Street Parade will take place on the Bourbon Street in New Haven, Conn.
Carnival Festival Carnival Festival will start July 20 and run to the end of July.
Mascot Festival The New Orleans Mascots will hold their annual Mascota Parade on the parade route in New France.
Bourbon & Wine Festival Bourbon & wine will be enjoyed on the streets of New Orly.
Carnival The Bourbon & Wines Festival will be the largest celebration of New Year in New Years celebrations.
Mocambo Festival The Carnival Mocambos are expected to celebrate on the French Riviera.
Carnival Music Festival Carnival Music will feature concerts, music and entertainment.
Bourbon Festivals Bourbon Festivities will begin the celebration of the Bourbon Festival in New Iberia, Spain.
Moustache Festival Moustaches are expected at the Moustachioed Parade in New Britain.
