Netflix has been set to launch its first series of its own, starring the Riverdale gang as they explore the dark side of American society in a world where the police are now even worse than they were before.
Netflix will stream season 5 of Riverdale, the first of two series of the new series, at the same time it launches season 5s four and five in April and May, according to Netflix.
Season 5 of the US network’s crime drama was released earlier this month, in advance of the fifth season premiere in April.
Netflix’s first series is based on the comic book series written by Archie Comics writer and artist Jughead Jones, and features characters such as Jugheads friend Jug-El, the gang’s drug dealer Mr House, the mysterious but powerful Betty, and Veronica.
The new season also stars Emily Blunt, Mandy Moore, Kyle Chandler, Ben De LaCreme, Alexis Denisof and Alexis Michelle.
Riverdale, which is the second TV series produced by Warner Bros Television, is produced by The CW and Warner Bros Studios.
