Eagles coach Chip Kelly has announced the signing of veteran veteran linebacker Brian Dawkins for the fourth season.
Dawkins spent last season with the Carolina Panthers, but is now a member of the Eagles.
He joins a roster that features some of the league’s best players, including defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, linebacker Connor Barwin, cornerback Malcolm Jenkins, defensive tackle Jason Peters, linebacker Mychal Kendricks, safety Malcolm Jenkins and cornerback Byron Maxwell.
In his first season with Carolina, Dawkins recorded 57 tackles, 2.5 sacks and three interceptions in 44 games.
He started all 16 games, but was limited to one game due to a torn ACL.
Dwight was a member for all 16 of the Panthers’ playoff games.
In 2017, Dawkins appeared in nine games and had one interception.
He had 14 tackles, one sack and three passes defensed.
He also had two passes deflected in Super Bowl 50.
Dawnkins spent most of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but also played with the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears.
In 2019, he appeared in six games, recording one interception and four pass deflections.
He was also limited to two games due to injury.
He played in 10 games with the New Orleans Saints last season.
